President Donald Trump announced that the United States would commence nuclear testing. The president stated, “Because of other countries’ testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our nuclear weapons on an equal basis.”

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright clarified that the U.S. would not engage in explosive testing. Secretary Wright said, “The tests we’re talking about right now are system tests. These are not nuclear explosions. These are what we call non-critical explosions.”
He added, “With our science and our computation power, we can simulate incredibly accurately exactly what will happen in a nuclear explosion. Now we simulate ‘what were the conditions’ that delivered that, and as we change bomb designs, ‘what will they deliver?'”
The U.S. has not conducted nuclear testing in 33 years.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump as he seeks to ensure the United States is on equal footing with foreign nuclear powers.
- For discernment for the president and members of his administration as they set guidelines and parameters for policy changes.
- For God’s purposes and plans to be fulfilled in and through the United States.
